Rashi Calculator — Find Your Moon Sign Free

Your Rashi (Vedic Moon sign) is the zodiac sign the Moon occupied at the moment of your birth, calculated using the sidereal (Lahiri ayanamsa) system rather than the tropical system used in Western astrology. It's the sign most Vedic predictions — daily horoscopes, dashas, muhurat timing — are actually based on. Vedic Shruti calculates your Rashi precisely from your birth date, time, and place using Swiss Ephemeris.

Common questions

What is the difference between Rashi and Western zodiac sign?

Rashi (Vedic Moon sign) is calculated using the sidereal system with the Lahiri ayanamsa, which accounts for the gradual precession of the equinoxes. A Western (tropical) sun sign is usually one sign different from your Vedic Rashi because it uses a fixed, non-precessing zodiac.

Do I need my exact birth time to find my Rashi?

Birth time helps precision, since the Moon changes sign roughly every 2.25 days, but for most people even an approximate time and correct date and place will place the Moon in the correct Rashi.
